The Company
Inspire Films is an independent film production company based in New Zealand. As well as developing and producing feature films, the company provides legal and business affairs advice to the industry. Producers Catherine Juniot and Kim E. Baker have excellent domestic and international affiliates as well as strong, solid business and creative relationships within the industry. Inspire Films currently has a slate of film projects. The company works collaboratively with filmmakers and partners, from emerging talent to the most experienced, to tell great stories.
Inspire Films was set up by Catherine Juniot and Kim E. Baker in February 2008. Having already worked together at SPADA from 2003 to 2004, and currently working together at NZ On Screen, Catherine and Kim realised that they shared the same determination, inspiration and vision for film and their work. With an excellent working relationship and complementary key skills they make a great team. Inspire Films is passionate about people and aims to produce great stories on film which showcase interesting characters, relationships and environments.

The Producers
Kim E Baker
Passionate about the business and art of filmmaking. With Inspire Films, Kim is currently producing a slate of three feature films: Make a Joyful Noise; Silvertops; and The Pilgrim. Kim has been active in the New Zealand film and creative industries for over 10 years having worked in a variety of roles and at nearly all the screen agency related bodies: NZ Film Commission, New Zealand Screen Council, Screen Production and Development Association, Film New Zealand, and Creative New Zealand. Kim currently freelances to NZ On Screen (website) as the Rights Executive. She has also worked in roles as a consultant, production assistant, producer’s assistant and film editor. Kim has spent time abroad researching and investigating the international screen development and production environments. Dedicated and enthusiastic, at 32 years of age Kim is driven and focussed on producing. She has an extensive depth of film knowledge and understanding of the local and international industries; and already amassed a vast and diverse network of local and international contacts and associates through her work. Catherine Juniot
Catherine is a Film Producer/ Entertainment Lawyer with over 9 years' experience working in the NZ and International Film and Television Industries. With Inspire Films, Catherine is currently producing a slate of three feature films: Make A Joyful Noise; Silvertops; and The Pilgrim. Catherine also works as a freelance Business Affairs Advisor for NZ feature film and television producers and is Legal Advisor to NZ On Screen. Catherine has recently returned from two years in France where she was Associate Producer on an independent film, Inconceivable, which was developed in France and shot in London and Las Vegas, with an ensemble cast including Andie MacDowell, Jennifer Tilly, Kerry Fox, and Colm Feore. Prior to going overseas, Catherine was Business Affairs Manager at the NZ Film Commission during which time she played a key role in the financing and contracting of the following feature films: The World’s Fastest Indian, Number 2, Black Sheep, Sione’s Wedding, Eagle vs Shark and Out of the Blue. Previous positions held by Catherine include: Project Manager for SPADA; Production Manager (TVCs) for Catalyst Productions; Floor Manager for Sky Sport; HR Advisor for Garon Bonvalot (France) and Solicitor for Cullen Law. Catherine has a BA/LLB from Victoria University of Wellington, was admitted to the Bar in 1997, graduated from the Avalon Film and TV School in 1999 and is currently an Executive Member and Treasurer of WIFT Wellington.
