Catherine Juniot is a Film Producer and Entertainment Lawyer with over 12 years' experience working in the NZ and International Film and TV Industries. Catherine is currently based the South of France. She set up her Film Production Company Inspire Films in 2008. Catherine has just produced three short films, Pacific Dreams, directed by David Strong and A Fictitious Thesis directed by Etienne Vaudrey, and Cinderella's Prince directed by Fern Karun. More information about these short films can be found on this website. As well as producing, Catherine is a Freelance Legal & Business Affairs Advisor to the NZ Film and TV Industries. In this capacity, she has worked for many film and TV clients including the New Zealand Film Commission; the award-winning website NZ On Screen; the feature film Home by Christmas directed by Gaylene Preston; and the children's television series Kaitangata Twitch directed by Yvonne Mackay, which was a finalist in 8 categories and a winner in 3 categories in the Qantas Film and TV Awards 2010.Catherine is also a freelance Production Manager to the film and television industries. Most recently, she worked alongside Director/Producer Alex Galvin on his second feature film Eternity. Prior to setting up Inspire Films in Wellington in early 2008, Catherine spent two years in France where she was Associate Producer on an independent film, Inconceivable, directed by Mary McGuckian, which was developed in France and shot in London and Las Vegas, with an ensemble cast including Andie MacDowell, Jennifer Tilly, Kerry Fox, and Colm Feore. Before working on Inconceivable, Catherine was Business Affairs Manager at the New Zealand Film Commission during which time she played a key role in the financing, contracting, selling and production monitoring of the following feature films: The World's Fastest Indian, Number 2, Black Sheep, Sione's Wedding, Eagle vs Shark and Out of the Blue. Previous positions held by Catherine include: Project Manager for the New Zealand Screen Production and Development Association (SPADA); Production Manager (Television Commercials) for Catalyst Productions; Floor Manager for Sky Sport; Human Resources Advisor for Garon Bonvalot France; Barrister and Solicitor specialising in Employment Law for Cullen Law; and Manager of Café Mode Wellington, which was a family business. Catherine has a Bachelor of Laws Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Victoria University of Wellington. She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court in New Zealand in 1997; she graduated from the Avalon Film and TV School in 1989; and was an Executive Member and Treasurer of Women in Film and Television (WIFT) Wellington from 2008 to 2010. Catherine has been passionate about films since a very young age. She has always wanted to be a part of an industry that, through a medium which is accessible to everyone on an international basis at very low cost to the audience, can take people away from their day-to-day lives and take them on a journey, even if it's only for a couple of hours, where they can be entertained, learn something new, be moved, and most importantly be inspired to make the most of their life and the world we live in.
